With a genuine Alaskan spirit of adventure, Willow first moved to Cape Town in 2003 to do work in the townships. A connection to the people and the place kept her tethered to the opposite end of the world, where she soon developed a close community of friends, learned to surf, and most importantly travelled throughout Southern Africa.
Going on several self-drive trips in Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa, Willow is enamored of the bush where the silence takes you completely away from the world you know. Tanzania and Kenya are two of Willow’s ‘Top 10’ places to visit before you die – for the wildlife, the history, the remote never-ending quiet, and that inexplicable feeling you get from being ‘out there.’
