Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is a stunning landscape dotted with baobab trees and innumerable termite mounds as well as being home to a large elephant population. The park is spectacular in the dry season (July to October) when many of the migratory wildlife species come to the Tarangire River – a permanent source of water for wildlife in the area, including wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland, oryx and not forgetting lion, leopard and cheetah. All accompanied by spectacular birdlife.
In the dry season, Tarangire is second only to the Ngorongoro Crater in concentrations of wildlife, enhanced by a sparse human population! Planet Africa Adventures has an intimate knowledge of this beautiful little park. If you are planning a safari in the dry season, Tarangire is an absolute must-see.
