Masai/Village visits

E-mail Print

Tanzania is much more than just a safari destination. The local culture and people of this country make for a wonderfully enriching experience.

Go on a 2-3 hour Cultural Village Walk through the village of Mto wa Mbu, where a lot of different tribes co-exist peacefully. You walk through the village at an easy going pace which allows you to meet and interact with its residents and get a real feel of the heartbeat of an authentic African village. You will visit the school and meet the children, visit the hospital, the village bar, and even residents in their homes. Afterwards you will enjoy a flavorful local lunch prepared for you by a lady from the village – we have been working with this lady for years and she cooks a delicious Tanzanian meal outside her home on a little fire. In general we find that some cultural visits can be a bit touristy but we feel this is an authentic and very different experience that our clients really enjoy.

If you are interested in meeting members of the legendary Maasai people, we can arrange for you to go walking with them. You will hear their stories firsthand and learn about the inspirational way of life and history of these proud warriors and cattle herders.

There are many cultural experiences to choose from, and we strive to ensure that they are authentic and non-intrusive to the locals.
