Rwanda Extension
Our Rwanda extension usually comprises a 4 day, 3 night adventure. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda makes an excellent add-on to a Tanzanian safari, as the brief trek is easy to plan around a full safari itinerary. A gorilla visit can entail anything from an hour to several hours trekking through the forest, led by experienced trackers, ending with one full hour observing the gorillas. The trek will lead you from quaint farmlands through the dense rainforests of the Parcs de Volcans - Rwanda is considered the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ for its breathtaking mountainous landscapes. You may spot golden monkeys or see buffalo, bush duiker and a wide variety of bird life. But the high point, of course, one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth, will be spending an hour with the gentle giant gorillas as they go about their daily life - feeding, playing, resting, raising their young. The rest of the time you spend visiting the Genocide Museum, Golden Monkey trekking, and just enjoying the surrounding vistas.
