Family Safaris

Day 01

Family Safari Example

We have a lot of experience when it comes to family safaris, because our activities make a safari much more family friendly.

Energetic teenagers or active children will probably enjoy their safari a lot more if they can get out of the car once in a while to go canoeing or biking or walking.  We will design a private itinerary for you, and depending on the size of your family, we will ensure you have enough vehicles so that space is not cramped, and have enough guides to ensure individual care and attention.

Days 1 & 2
Arrival Tanzania –Arusha National park – Canoeing – Rivertrees Lodge

Today you will arrive at Kilimanjaro airport. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. Make sure you have all your bags and you will head for Arusha. It takes about 45 minutes from the airport to Rivertrees Lodge. A lovely dinner is still waiting for you, spend the rest of the evening relaxing before you start your safari!

The next morning our guide will take you to Arusha National Park. You will go for a game drive, and you also have the opportunity to go for a canoeing trip on Small Momella Lake. It is an incredible experience to glide over the water in the midst of a national park.

Get close to buffaloes and giraffes grazing on the shore, and get to see hippos up close and personal (don’t worry, our guide knows how to keep you safe)! On a clear day the view of both Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro can be stunning. Having enjoyed the scenery and the wildlife, you return to Onsea House for the night.
