Erica is a born-and-bred Zimbabwean local that has made adventure her full time job. Fortunate enough to have an early introduction to the bush, her love for travel first began on safari holidays to Hwange National Park during school breaks. Since then, she has travelled extensively throughout Africa: adding Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo and Tanzania to her passport stamp collection alongside destinations further abroad. She has been living in Cape Town since 2017 crafting tailor made itineraries and luxury group safaris.
For Erica, the most special thing about an African safari is sipping on condensed milk coffee while watching the sun rise from under layers of beanies, scarfs, and blankets – cold mornings in the bush are a bracing prelude to a day under the African sky. A close second is chasing the sunset at every opportunity. All plans on safari quite literally revolve around the sun!
TOP PICK:
Hwange National Park – mostly because it’s home. Erica has done the Pumping Legs for Water cycling challenge through Hwange 3 times. This worthwhile initiative raises awareness and funds to support the limited water sources in the park.
TRAVEL TIP:
Start, don’t stop! And very important: be nice to the immigration officers. After all, they give you the stamps.
